It’s not easy improving on something that’s capable of, well, just about everything, but our NEW Renegade platform is simply exceptional. We’ve succeeded in preserving the all-important DNA of our original Renegade while also adding more tire clearance, adjustability, and compliance. Read on to understand Jamis’ approach to adventure frame design and how it keeps the Renegade’s superior ride quality consistent regardless of tire choice and frame size, on-road or off. VERSATILITY Imagine a bike that could be a morning commuter, an after-work group ride toy, and a 300-mile weekend expedition companion. It’s right here. With over 21 fork and frame mounts, you’ve got the option to mount fenders, a bento box, front and rear thru-axle carriers, and multiple water bottles on the main triangle or fork legs. Add clearance for 700 x 50mm and 650 x 2.00”, and it’s clear the Renegade series is equipped to accommodate any adventure. Renegades are designed to accommodate up to a 700c x 50mm tire without fenders or 30mm with fenders. DESIGNED FOR ADVENTURE Adventure Frame Design – We redesigned the new Renegade from the ground up to be the ultimate modern-day gravel bike. From a frame design perspective, our goal was to create a well-balanced, responsive handling bike with a compliant ride feel. How did we do this? We paired a stretched top-tube with a slightly shorter stem, while also lowering the bottom bracket and lengthening the wheelbase to put the rider more “in” the bike. Combine these improvements with our Size-Specific Design (SSD) philosophy and what we’ve got is a fantastically capable platform. The new Renegade is fast, fun, and will take you anywhere you dare to go. Adventure Fork Design – Having the ability to adjust handling characteristics is key for a platform as versatile as Renegade. Our new fork design features flip chips that allow adjustment between 50mm and 55mm offset. The upper position (50mm) allows for increased stability at higher speeds and is the ideal setting for gravel riders. The lower position (55mm) provides more responsive steering, which is ideal for an all-road setup. FULL RANGE Featuring design that allows riders of all sizes, disciplines, and budgets to ride comfortably on-road, off-road, and everywhere in between, Renegade is ready for action no matter which model you ride. The snappy, responsive ride of our carbon models set the bar for how we wanted the steel and aluminum bikes to perform, and with the ability to mount up to a 50c tire, these bikes are ready to go just about anywhere. All you need is the desire to push, pedal, and explore. A full range of frame sizes from 48cm to 61cm across all models means there’s a Renegade designed just for you.

Jamis' Icon road series is the epitome of advanced aluminum road bike frame design. The result is unapologetically responsive and requires a certain amount of character to fully appreciate its ride qualities. If explosive acceleration defines your style, the Icon Pro is your bike. Solid, dependable components adorn the Pro build, featuring a full Shimano 105 group, American Classic tubeless wheels wrapped in Vittoria Zaffiro 700 x 25c tires, and a 3T bar and stem combo. Jamis' monocoque carbon fork damps road vibrations while giving you pinpoint steering performance through the extra stiffness provided by 12mm thru axles, and a Selle Royale Seta S1 saddle and Jamis carbon fiber seatpost wrap up this primed criterium destroyer.

Hit a baseball with a wooden bat and then hit one with an aluminum bat and you'll know why. You want your frame material to soak up those streets, not beat you with them. And we use only the best: Reynolds cold-worked, double-butted chrome-moly steel.

EASY ACCESS We're super proud of the Citizen's sleek frame design. With an arcing top tube for the "Men's" frames and S-bend top and down tubes for a super-low step-through "Women's" version. In fact, we hesitate to designate either with gender specific labels because the version with the easy-access, low step-over top tube is suitable for anyone with limited hip flexibility who might be challenged to swing a leg over the rear wheel when mounting & dismounting. EASY ON THE NECK & BACK A usual complaint from new or returning riders trying to get into the cycling groove is feeling uncomfortably perched forward with too much weight on their wrists and having to crank their necks backwards just to be able to see in traffic. We specifically designed our Citizens to remedy this. The large diameter 700c wheels push handlebar height up and shorter top tubes pull handlebars closer to the saddle, all to mitigate forward lean. Our 4-inch rise handlebars sweep back at a natural hand-grasp angle with a long-quilled or angle-adjustable stem that allows for a wide range of adjustment to tune handle bar height and reach perfectly for each ride. GEARED TO GO The shifting systems on all our Citizens feature long cage rear derailleurs, full-size 48/38/28T triple-chainring cranksets (single 44t chainring for Citizen base model) and big 11-32T or 14-34T gearing in the back. This gives you the dual advantage of having fairly tall gears for controlled pedaling at speed on descents as well as really low gearing for easier pedaling uphill. It's a rider-friendly combination that's made the Citizens a perennial favorite of recreational cyclists.

Every Jamis youth bike uses size-specific items like grips, saddles, and cranks that enhance comfort and control by providing the best possible bike fit. We focus on designing frames with low stand-overs to take much of the awkwardness out of getting on board and dismounting after. We trim as much weight as we can with lightweight aluminum frames on many of the youth models and use aluminum parts where possible to work towards that make-it-as-light-as-possible goal.
